CAMEL HAIR

Camels are exposed to wide temperature fluctuations, which is why their hair has an excellent temperature-balancing effect, both in hot and cold weather.

Camels shed their fine undercoat of downy hair, which is combed out and collected in early summer. Only the soft undercoat is used in our high-quality duvets. The properties of camel hair are very similar to those of 100 % pure virgin sheep’s wool, though camel hair is slightly softer, lighter and more supple. It also absorbs more moisture. Camel hair feels cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

The areas where our camel hair originates lie in the high plateaus of Central Asia. The animals live mainly in desert zones and mountains and are constantly exposed to wide temperature fluctuations. Their hair therefore has an excellent temperature-balancing effect, both in hot and cold weather. The hair regularly shed by the animals is just collected, sorted, and biologically processed. It thus remains completely natural.
